Your Role and Responsibilities
Who you are:
As a Network Software Development Engineer, you will develop new features to customer requirements, debug issues seen by customers, fix defects, work with QA on testing release and work with support to solve customers issues.
The Cloud Pack for Data System (CPDS) team works on an industry leading high-performance hybrid cloud on-premises Data and AI platform in a box. This hyper-converged high-performance infrastructure combines storage, compute, networking, and software into plug-and-play nodes which can easily and elastically scale to suit changing data and AI needs. The components are architected using modern technologies, and the team adopts a blend of agile and traditional methodologies to deliver with speed and quality.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Technical Skills –

• Total 5+ years of experience
• python 2 and 3
• bash scripting
• solid working knowledge of Linux
• working knowledge of container based technologies
• strong understanding of complex distributed systems,
• knowledge of openshift technologies.
  Networking
• Troubleshooting complex network topologies with mixed vendor support (Cumulus + Arista + Cisco)
• Layer 2 (LACP) and Layer 3 (BGP) client/switch configuration issues
• RPM based package deployments
• CI/CD development practices.
• Understands Agile and Scrum Methodology of developing in iterations .
• Clear Communication Skills
• Good team motivator and strong relationship building skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Understanding of hardware based systems programming
• Ability to integrate into a complex integrated system with many technical stakeholders
• Strong cross functionality ownership (dev + test + release + support)
• Good debugging skills
• be able to participate in Quality and Automation of the product as needed as Quality is very integral to the product
