The Job:
The Customer Service Technologies (CSTech) group supports a technology suite that is essential to our delivering a flawless customer support experience. The Teammate Tools team supports all the applications that are used by our Contact Center agents to access all relevant information and solve customer problems in real time. A smooth and highly efficient user experience, underpinned by capabilities like automation and AI, is key to enabling agents solving problems rapidly.
We are embarking on a critical transformation to shift from a legacy tech stack to a microservices supported, web-based solution that will enable rapid iterate-ability while delivering a true ‘single pane of glass’ experience for our agents. We’re looking to hire an engineer with full stack experience to help build this new stack.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with architects and other engineers, contribute to design discussions and then help build the full stack of the new teammate tools platform.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability by improving build and test systems.
- Be deeply engaged in the entire software lifecycle, from architecture through QA, deployment and ensuring uptime.
- Continuously stay informed on relevant industry direction, collaborate with architects to incorporate relevant patterns into solutioning.
- Mentor and guide new team members as required.
Your Profile:
- Strong hands-on experience in Javascript ecosystem and popular frameworks – vanilla JS, React, Node, Angular, jQuery
- Strong hands-on experience in one or more common languages / stacks used for building middleware – Java, Scala, Node, C#
- Thorough understanding of design, implementation and operation of enterprise micro services and APIs
- Experienced in and strong adherent of Software Engineering best practices.
- Experience working in a DevOps environment, strong understanding of CI tooling (TeamCity, Jenkins), various forms of automated testing – unit, integration and more
- Experienced in building applications that meet enterprise needs – secure, scalable, loosely coupled design
- High aspiration for quality balanced with a good sense of pragmatism
- Strong oral and written communication and other soft skills critical to collaborating with and engaging teams
What We Look For:
- Bachelor’s Degree; preferably Computer Science major or equivalent experience, with at least 3 years’ experience in full stack development
- Experience in handling multiple simultaneous, shifting priorities
- Experience in working with globally distributed teams across numerous time zones
- Experience in effectively engaging with multiple, including senior layers of organization
