Provides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.

Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects. May conduct training programs

As a member of the GBUDS IT Operations organization, the position of System Administrator (IC4) will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operational support of the Global Business Units product development infrastructures in Bangalore. The position requires good working knowledge of Cisco switches and ten years of Network configuration and Data Center support experience. Ideal candidate should have 10 years or more relevant work experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The ideal candidate would have experience in managing a small data center with 200 plus network devices and servers, hands on experience with network troubleshooting, racking and un-racking servers, managing ILOM and loading OS.

Candidate must have experience trouble shooting all networking issues, configurations, and installation.

Working knowledge of DHCP, Cisco ISE, Brocade, Wireshark etc is needed

Scripting for systems automation and maintenance, ability to write basic Python and Bash tools.

The System Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, web-servers, Oracle VM servers.

Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security.

The ideal System Administrator (IC4) would have the following Administrator level experience and knowledge in the following technologies.

• Cisco routers and switches (Cisco IOS)
• Linux OS – Oracle Linux, Red Hat Linux experience required.
• Experience in Bash, Python scripting.
• Experience with Brocade
• Experience with WireShark
• Experience with Oracle Linux VM (KVM) including VLAN and clustered environments
• Experience with iSCSI SANS and ZFS appliances; Oracle FS1 knowledge is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of computer systems and problem resolution.
